ghd has launched three new attachments for their helios hairdryer (£159 / €169) – the professional comb, professional diffuser, and wide styling nozzle.
ghd launches a new Professional Comb Nozzle (RRP £25 / €30) for the ghd helios hairdryer - and it has the seal of approval from legendary hairstylist and the UK’s leading authority in Afro and textured hair, Charlotte Mensah.
The new ghd helios is lighter and faster for ultra-powerful drying and ultimate styling control. It is a firm favourite with professionals for a frizz-free finish, and now, with the addition of the Professional Comb Nozzle attachment, helios will gently help lift, shape and blow out naturally textured, curly or coily hair.
Available to use with ghd’s helios professional hairdryer, the professional comb nozzle’s double-row of strengthened teeth are tapered to help comb through afro hair easily to create a natural blown-out style.
Charlotte Mensah’s guide to blow-drying Afro hair
- Attach ghd’s professional comb nozzle to the ghd helios professional hairdryer
- Separate hair into two sections
- Starting from the ends, gently detangle the hair using the ghd professional comb nozzle whilst blow-drying through the sections of hair
- Ensure the helios professional hairdryer is on the highest speed for a shinier and quicker result
- Once a section is finished, neatly put into a braid to prevent it from re-tangling
- Finish the look using ghd’s platinum+ styler
The ghd professional comb nozzle is a game changer not only for the stylist but also for the consumer. I am especially impressed with its design that not only provides tension suitable for different densities of afro hair textures, but the rounded ends are brilliant for scalp comfort.
I like to use the nozzle to create a sleek blow-out for my clients. My top tip is to blow-dry in small sections ensuring each section is completely dry before moving onto the next. Damp hair equals frizz, so keep a water spray bottle handy to wet damp sections before thoroughly blow-drying. Finish with a blast of cold air to close the cuticle to reduce frizz. - Charlotte Mensah
The new ghd helios is lighter and faster for ultrapowerful drying and ultimate styling control. It is a firm favourite with professionals for a smooth frizz-free finish, and now, with the addition of the professional diffuser (RRP £29/€30), helios will work with the hair’s natural texture to create perfectly formed curls and waves.
Air-vents in the contoured fingers of the professional diffuser help to dry hair close to the root, whilst lifting and separating hair for added body and gorgeously defined natural curls.
ghd’s professional diffuser is a great solution for those who want to work with natural hair more closely – the concentrated air flow helps to create body whilst eliminating frizz in the process.
For best use, separate hair as you dry it to create soft volume, as well as giving a frizz-free finish to naturally curly hair, or loose natural-looking waves in finer, straighter hair types. Use a low-speed and medium heat with ghd’s professional helios hairdryer for best results. - Charlotte Mensah
Wide Styling Nozzle
ghd launches a new professional wide styling nozzle (RRP £20 / €25) for the ghd helios hairdryer for unapparelled speed and precision.
The new ghd helios is lighter and faster for ultra-powerful drying and ultimate styling control. It is a firm favourite with professionals for a frizz-free finish, and now, with the addition of the professional Wide Styling Nozzle, helios will now dry hair even more easily than before!
ghd’s professional Wide Styling Nozzle is especially great for creating bouncy voluminous looks with thick/long hair. The additional width mirrors that of the ghd brush, meaning you can easily control the blow- dry.
Hold hair away from the hairline when blow-drying and dry upwards. This keeps the hair away from the cheekbones and has this incredible lifting effect to the face – my clients adore it.
The nozzle also angles well, meaning it eliminates frizz from hairlines. Anything from sleek up-dos to taming unwanted baby hairs – this really is the must-have attachment! - Zoe Irwin ghd Ambassador and professional hairstylist
All attachments are available to use with ghd helios professional hairdryer (£159 / €169) and available now in the finest salons, department stores and at www.ghdhair.com
