Rainbow Room International Style the Stars at TRNSMT

After two years, TRNSMT Festival returned to Scotland this September, and Scotland’s largest salon group and award-winning colour experts, Rainbow Room International, were delighted to be stylists to the stars backstage for the fourth year.

Known for being stylists to the stars at many of Scotland’s hottest events including the Scottish BAFTA’s the MOBOs, The Scottish Style Awards and T in the Park, the Rainbow Room International team were delighted to be back at TRNSMT after a cancelled event last year and an uncertain couple of years due to the Covid-19 pandemic when many events were unable to go ahead.

Over the three-day day weekend event, Rainbow Room International stylists from the Royal Exchange Square and Buchanan Street salons hosted a pop-up salon backstage for performing artists to get their hair cut and/or styled before heading on stage.

The team were delighted to create looks for stars including Becky Hill, and band members from Twin Atlantic, Seagirls, Declan McKenna, Tom Oddell and Voodoo’s to name a few. The hair across the few days was very diverse, with a lot of Afro hair and shorter hair looks including mohawks and tight fades, particularly amongst the band members. A lot of the stars also had strong hair colours, including bold pinks and pastels, which allowed the Rainbow Room International team to style their hair to show of the colour and allow it to pop on stage.

David Nicholson, Director of Rainbow Room International’s Royal Exchange Square salon commented:

To be back at TRNSMT this year was fantastic, the atmosphere and vibe were incredible. Our Rainbow Room International team had a great time and were excited to be back at the event since 2019. All of the artists seemed incredibly pleased to be back doing what they do best, and we were delighted to provide some great hair looks and be back to some normalisation after a rough couple of years.
