One of the biggest events in the Scottish calendar, the Scottish BAFTA’s, took place on Sunday evening at a glamorous red carpet ceremony at the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central, and award-winning Scottish salon group, Rainbow Room International, were on hand throughout the evening to style the celebrities hair for the event.

The Rainbow Room International BAFTA hairstyling team consisted of Adele Quinn, Art Director at the Clarkston salon, Reece Orr, Academy Director at the Howard Street Academy, Lori Bagen, Art Director at East Kilbride, Tyler Porter, Stylist at Great Western Road and Kitty Muldoon, Stylist at the Stirling salon.

Some fantastic stars were in attendance at this years event and many of the celebrities were delighted to have their hair styled prior to appearing on the red carpet by the talented Rainbow Room International team including Saoirse Ronan, Martin and Tina Compston, Jack Lowden, Iain Stirling, Arielle Free, Jean Johanssan, James Harkness, Chloe Pirrie, Carol Kirkwood, Shauna Macdonald and Nicola Coughlan.

The general hair theme of the evening for the ladies was soft, glam waves, which were created using a ghd wand and shine spray by Schwarzkopf to give the hair a glossy finish. Adele from the Clarkston salon also had the joy of styling Shauna Macdonald’s short hair, providing it with a messy, bedhead like look by quaffing the hair up and creating a lot of texture using Schwarzkopf Salt Spray. Lori from the East Kilbride salon styled Jean Johanssan’s hair into a super sleek pony with the help of a clip in hairpiece. The hair was styled using Rainbow Room International’s Glosette Styling Spray to give the pony hold and OSiS+ Gel by Schwarzkopf to keep the sides sleek and frizz free.

Many male celebrities appeared on the red carpet and had their hair neatened up backstage prior to the event. Tyler from the Great Western Road salon provided James Harkness with a sleeker look to tame his hair and give it a more tidy appearance using Rainbow Room International’s Gloss Foam. Adele also styled Jack Lowden’s hair on the night, using Schwarzkopf OSiS+ Coal Putty to give it a more defined finish with shine.

Adele Quinn, Art Director at the Clarkston Salon, commented,

It was my first year attending BAFTA Scotland and myself and the rest of the team had a fantastic time. The day had such a nice buzz and it was a great experience for us to be involved with and allowed us to meet new people and the celebrities, which was lovely.
