Share

By photographic entry, Reed Hair were successful in getting through to the Regional Finals of the Wella Trend Vision Awards 2014, which was held at the Connaught Rooms in London on the 20th May.

The lucky Reed stylists who gained this entry were Georgie Tucker (aged 33) and Phoebe Hall (aged 23), with Georgie going on to win the Regional Finals.

From over 900 entries, 180 entrants were selected to present their work live at regional shows, with 36 finalists eventually chosen to go ahead and fight for the chance to represent the UK at the international final.

Each year, entrants are tasked with interpreting one of the trends defined by Wella Professionals – this year being Urban Native and Borderline Beauty. Entrants can participate in either the Young Talent or Colour category.

Regional shows didn’t just showcase the work of entrants – they also provided the opportunity for some of the most exciting names in the industry to present their own inspirational looks.

Sassoon Academy showcased their Prairie collection, while Marc Antoni and Sanrizz captivated the audience with their presentations working with Koleston Perfect Innosense and new Blondor Freelights.

Wella Professionals Education and Events Manager for UK and Ireland, Sheila Jackson said,

Every individual who has reached the UK Final should feel extremely proud of what they have achieved. It’s fantastic to see so much passion and creativity and our esteemed panel of judges found the standard of work higher than ever before.

Winners from each region will now go on to showcase their work at the Wella Professionals Trend Vision Award UK & Ireland Final, which will take place on Monday 6th October at legendary cultural venue, The Roundhouse in London’s Camden.

Reed Hair are also very proud of two of their apprentices, Grant Williams and Amber Jessop, who recently won major awards at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Basildon.

Grant Williams won ‘Student of the Year 2014’ and took 1st place in the ‘Abstract Hair Show’, hosted by JET Training Academy. Grant is 18 and has just completed his NVQ Level 2. Amber Jessop (17) came 2nd place in the ‘Abstract Hair Show'.
