Schwarzkopf Professional’s Young Artistic Team continued their colourful year of education recently with two days at the Billi Currie Salon in London with Ishoka’s Philip Bell and Rainbow Room International’s Suzie McGill.
Day one was spent with Philip who had put together a session on extensions. He took the team through how to create two very different looks seamlessly, using the magic of extensions and wefts whilst explaining all of the best tips and tricks for a seamless look. It was a chance for the team to learn a little more about Philip and how he reached his current stage on his hairdressing journey; from opening Ishoka over 30 years ago, to becoming a British Hairdressing Awards Hall of Famer. Getting one-on-one time with these inspiring mentors is what the Young Artistic Team is all about and with so many well-respected names working closely with Schwarzkopf Professional, Philip and Suzie to name but a few, all these valuable experiences are so readily available for the team.
The following day, Philip returned to Billi Currie with the Young Artistic Team, but this time was joined by Suzie McGill. The pair led a day of education and demonstrations based around Schwarzkopf Professional’s AW17 Essential Looks collection: Iconic Looks. Inspired by the #throwback fashion movement, Schwarzkopf Professional have chosen the most iconic cut, colour and styling looks from Essential Looks collections gone by and collated them to create the latest edition. Philip and Suzie each chose a look to present, Philip with ‘Starlet’ and Suzie with ‘Out of Shape’, demonstrating just how versatile these styles are and how to translate them into salon styles for clients.
We had a very enjoyable few days with Philip and Suzie, says Sinead Hourihane from Lynda Maher Hair Studio in Carlow, Ireland, They were so inspiring and it was great to hear more about their personal career journeys.
Bevan Scott Clark from Hooker & Young says,
I can’t wait to start using all the new techniques we have learnt in the salon. Nothing is unachievable!
