Hair by SJ Forbes, the award-winning, independent hairdressing salon in Egham, Surrey, has donated Christmas presents to a charity initiative which aims to ensure every child has a gift to open on Christmas day.

The Operation Christmas Child campaign, organised by the Samaritans Purse charity, encourages local businesses and individuals to donate shoe boxes filled with gifts to be distributed in countries such as Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia and Romania, and to refugee camps around Europe.

Members of the SJ Forbes team have donated presents including toys, stationery, hygiene items, sweets and clothes that will be given to the children in time for Christmas day.

Donating boxes for this initiative is part of SJ Forbes’ campaign to give back to the local community and charitable causes.

The SJ Forbes Give Back to the Community Campaign will see all members of the salon team dedicate at least a day a month to volunteer work, raising money for those in need, supporting local businesses and individuals, and showing gratitude to their customers.

Hayley Gibson-Forbes, Co-Director, S J Forbes said:

Christmas is a time for giving and for receiving, but for us, much more than that it is a time of goodwill, for thinking of others, for being generous and for reaching out. The Samaritans Operation Christmas Child campaign ensures that every child feels special on December 25. This is another example of the work that our caring and passionate team does to support charitable causes.
