Talented Fintona Hairdresser Bound for London to Work Alongside Biggest Names in the Industry

Share

A talented local hairdresser has been selected by Project X to travel to London once a month to train alongside some of the biggest names in the hairdressing industry.

Proprietor of her own business JHD (Jade Hair Design) in Fintona, Jade Gibson is the only Irish representative to be taking part in Project X this year!

Having returned from her monthly visit to London on March 3rd, Jade recalls how she had the opportunity to train with profound stylist Zoe Irwin, who has worked with celebrities such as Cheryl Cole, Nicole Scherzinger, Pixie Lott and designers such as Alexander McQueen.

Reflecting on the experience, the promising hairdresser said,

The wealth of information and skill we learnt from Zoe in one day was mind blowing.

Furthermore the 25 year old attended a master class held by the Fellowship of British Hairdressing, where she observed the biggest names in the industry. In addition, Jade was given some helpful advice from Errol Douglas, the president of the Fellowship of British Hairdressing, and Jamie Stevens, stylist to the stars of the popular ITV singing competition, the X Factor.

The young hairdresser also enjoys exploring ways in which to incorporate the ever changing world of fashion into her hairstyles. Alexander McQueen, Chloe and Valentino have been showcasing their up-and-coming tribal trends for this season through the use of prints and earthy materials such as leather and metal. A trend which can also be reflected in hairstyles through the use of braids and plaits. Jade advises,

Distress the braid, really loosen it out to keep it bang on trend, also using leather to secure the end of your braid will bring it to a whole new level.

As far as hair fashion goes, the young business owner advocates freedom of choice, individualism, questioning authority and rule breaking as the key attributes to expressing personalities through hairstyles.

Most recently Jade travelled to Manchester to display her skills on stage at Pro Hair Live, which is one of the most prestigious trade shows in the UK. In keeping with her trends of the season, she created a warrior princess look for her model, and completed the look with a hand-made  headpiece which was inspired by Dolce and Gabbana's gold coin dress from their 2014 spring/summer collection.

Jade's on trend and inventive look won her acclaim amongst the renowned stylists who were in attendance. Meanwhile the skilled local business woman will soon challenge herself once again when she travels to London to work on a photo shoot with Tina Farrey from Rush Hair.

Looking ahead to the coming months, the creative hairdresser stated that,

This spring/summer will be an exciting one for myself and my team at JHD salon and also with my new Project X family in London. This is going to be an amazing time!
