At Good Salon Guide we love welcoming new members and hearing their feedback, so we invited Teresa Weller from Teresa Weller HairArt, who joined us in 2019, to look back over an incredible first year in business. And of course, a great first year with Good Salon Guide. Let’s hear from Teresa…

The last 12 months have been hectic - very hectic - but some of the best in my hairdressing career.

A little over a year ago I opened Teresa Weller HairArt in Dorking with my incredible Creative Director, Egidio Sala – better known to everyone as Gid!  Opening my own business was a dream, but it was still scary and has meant long hours, hard work and plenty of passion.

But to see our boutique salon flourish in such a big way has been the most rewarding part of my whole career. When I opened my business, I was determined to be a real part of the local community, and Gid and I have done exactly that. A few months ago, we hosted a wonderful one year in business party where we raised £410 for local charity, The Children’s Trust.

Having joined Good Salon Guide just a few months earlier I was thrilled by the support I got from them for the party, and for my incredible work styling the hair of artists and celebrities such as Renee Zellweger at London PRIDE. Good Salon Guide shared an incredible blog I wrote about my experiences which really helped put my salon on the map.

The last 12 months have also seen my work and skill as a bridal hairdresser get acknowledged. My work has graced the cover of Your Surrey Wedding, and we won Best Bridal Hair Salon in Surrey at the Surrey Salon Awards.

We then reached the finals of the Surrey Business Awards in the Best New Business category and found out a few weeks ago that we are finalists in the British Wedding Awards in the Finishing Touches category.

All in all, a fantastic first year in business and great that we had the support of the team at Good Salon Guide. Here’s to an equally successful 2020!
