Teresa Weller, Director of Teresa Weller HairArt, headed up the hair backstage at this year’s Pride’s Got Talent final for the sixth year running.

Now in its tenth year, the event, held on Sunday 26th June, took place at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London and was a night of live music, cabaret, and variety that shone a spotlight on the LGBTQ+ community’s diversity, creativity, and talent from across the UK.

The event, which marked the 50th anniversary of Pride in London, was hosted by Drag Act, Cabaret Host, and Actor, Michael Twaits, with the night a heady mix of comedy, cabaret, drag and dancing, from finalists in both music and cabaret categories. Each finalist had previously battled through live heats in a bid to showcase their talent in the final to ultimately be crowned Winner of Pride’s Got Talent 2022. The winners - Ring the Alarm in the music category and Alexa Vox in the cabaret category - received a headline slot at Trafalgar Square at Pride in London on Saturday 2nd July, as well as £1,000.

Teresa was assisted by a Graduate Stylist from Teresa Weller HairArt, Olivia Parkin, with the duo working diligently backstage to create a host of looks, including scalp plaits, braids, and sky-high ponies, with tons of texture and movement.

Teresa said:

We have led the Pride’s Got Talent hair team backstage for the last six years and love the energy and vibrancy. At this year’s event it was the bigger the better when it came to the hair brief: think masses of back-combing and tons of bouncy curls, all created with Revlon Professional Style Masters. It’s a truly collaborative experience and such an incredible community; styling the hair is always such a privilege.
