The Fellowship Storm Salon International

Share

The Fellowship stormed Salon International once again this year with their most beautiful stage yet, ready for three busy days of hairspiration!

Over the course of the event, it was a who’s who of hairdressing, with many of the industry’s familiar names hosting and performing, judging the competitions, peeking backstage and joining the audience.

The Fellowship stage opened on Saturday 14th October with an extraordinary roster of names drawn from every corner of hairdressing. The audience were transfixed as they were treated to multiple performances from the likes of the F.A.M.E. Team, barbering brilliance from The Company of Master Barbers and Alison Scattergood, and colourful presentations from Colour Rebels and the Debbie G Academy. The talent did not falter throughout Sunday, with an impressive 20 stage slots. The day kicked off with plenty of energy and attitude from the F.A.M.E. Team and their grungy, ‘YOUTHQUAKE’ collection.

Following this were the Afro Hair, Cut & Colour and Long Hair segments, with appearances from well-loved names such as Michelle Thompson, Simon Tuckwell and Steven Smart. As well as presentations from The B.O.M.B Squad, the Marc Antoni Artistic Team, Katie Mulcahy for RUSK PRO and the Australian F.A.M.E. Team, the 2018 Step UP & SHINE winner Evie Scrowston from Hays Salon in Hull took the stage with mentor Debbie G for an interview. With applications for 2019 now open, it was the perfect time to share her experience with the audience and explain why the Scholarship is such a fantastic opportunity for any hairdresser at any level.

Between stage slots from Fellowship favourites, day three saw the Project X, Colour Project and ClubStar Art Teams finally live the moment that they’d been working towards for months; their stage presentations.

It was incredible to see the level of talent and team work between these hairdressers, as they all spoke confidently about how much the Fellowship has helped them to grow and improve. From 90’s grunge, to clever colour placements, to edgy editorial vibes; each and every team blew the audience away with their work and skill. It was also a big day for the F.A.M.E. Team 2018 finalists, as the final competition took place with two separate rounds for the hopefuls to prove for the last time why they deserve a place on next year’s team. Judging the competition was Karine Jackson, Nick Irwin, Andreas Stavrou, Errol

Douglas MBE, Luke Benson, Ashleigh Hodges, Michelle Griffin, Simon Shaw and Jayne Wild. They began with the Long Hair Competition – 20 minutes on stage with their model to create the most creative, skilful and impressive look possible as the illustrious judging panel walked the stage to inspect and oversee. The second and final round was the individual presentations, where each individual had their moment to shine and explain their creative concepts and pitch for their place on the team. The final four will be announced at this year’s Luncheon on December 4th 2017.
