The Hairdressers’ Charity Takes to the Stage to Raise over £2000

Share

The organisers of HAIR UK invited The Hairdressers’ Charity to host a fundraising and awareness stage during the recent two-day exhibition at the NEC Birmingham. With thousands of hair and beauty professionals in attendance, it was the perfect opportunity to raise awareness of the charity, whilst also raising over £2000 to help hairdressers in need.

The impressive stage area was voluntary organised and managed by business consultant Jackie Holian from Dynamic Influence and educator Ross Miller from Medusa Training. The line-up over the two days included guest artists from Ben Brown Education, G&E McIntyres, Lewis Moore salons, Wella Generation NOW Team, Zen Hair, McDonald Waterfall, Karoliina Saunders, Scissorhands, Twisted Scissors, BarberBarber, Sebastian Cult Team and Kings and Queens Hairdressing. Each guest artist created inspiring, educational cuts and hairstyling whilst Ross Miller compared and discussed the charity messages to an enthralled audience.

The Hairdressers’ Charity has been established to support hairdressers and ex-hairdressers who have been affected by illness, disability, bereavement or financial hardship. With over 300 applicants requesting help each year, the charity relies on the support of the hairdressing industry to provide help for those who need it most.

We can’t thank the HAIR UK organisers enough for the opportunity to raise the charity’s awareness to hair and beauty professionals. This was a new direction for the charity to host a stage show and it wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of the organisers, Jackie and Ross for pulling it all together. - The Hairdressers’ Charity co-President, Philip Sharp

The two-day stage show, alongside the face to face communication the charity had with visitors coming to both the stage and stand area, enabled us to reach a new audience and share the great work the charity undertakes. A huge thank you to the hair teams for getting involved and presenting stunning hair over the two days. They helped to create a great buzz about the charity, which is amazing. - The Hairdressers’ Charity co-President, Samantha Grocutt.
