The Healing Zone started as a Wellbeing Centre in 1998 as trouble between Afghanistan and the USA started. We closed for a while being in a villa and moved to Spinneys Umm Sequim, in a tiny 200sq foot retail outlet. It turned out to be the best move we ever made.
Business in such a small space was a challenge at times; we became so well known that the Jumeirah Group looked at us as a competitor, not because of our size but of our popularity and the holistic treatments we offered at that time. Colour therapy (Aura-Soma) was very popular, and our foot detox treatment created a following, where bookings were made months in advance to secure treatment.
Things changed when the regulations changed, and we had to employ a medical doctor. After three attempts, as none of the medical doctors understood our philosophy or treatments, Anne changed the wellbeing centre to a training centre.
In the ever-changing market and the world pandemic, we once again were in a situation where change must happen to survive. Anne launched the online platform for our theory lessons so that we could continue to provide professional and quality training for our students. We have kept this and expanded on the online training several times a year as students find this very helpful, especially when coming up to exams.
Having some online training programs has also opened up our market, bringing students from Saudi Arabia, Ireland, Sweden, France, Seychelles and many other countries, as well as the UAE.
After 23 years and an exciting roller coaster of changes to our business in Dubai, starting as a wellbeing centre and transforming into a holistic and beauty training centre, our mission hasn't changed; our focus is on supporting health, wellbeing, education and learning for our students and clients.
