The Hugh Campbell Hair Group Celebrate At Their In Salon Awards

Ask Hugh Campbell what gives any business the edge and he’ll quickly cite investment in its people. His five award-winning salons constitute the Hugh Campbell Hair Group, where continuous professional development is the cornerstone of success.

While the group’s colourists and stylists are regular participants in both national and international hairdressing competitions, it is the annual in-house awards that generate a happy balance between professional rivalry and collegial support. This year the In Salon Awards took place on Sunday 24th November and were judged by a panel of industry experts; Debbie G, Patricia Strachan, Maeve O’Healy Hart, Hanora Harnett and Trish Sheehan, and were joined by special guest Andrea Hart of L’Oreal Ireland.

Whilst some buckle under the pressure, the staff of all five salons performed to the high standards of artistry and innovation that have come to characterise their work. Judge Debbie G reported after the awards ceremony,

I feel like I am part of the Hugh Campbell Hair Group, I am truly inspired and emotional by the level of work achieved by the artistic team.

Melo Yelo claimed three titles – winner Sarah Hourigan and runner-up Eileen Hanly of the Next Generation Melo Yelo category, and winner Eileen Hanly in the Avant Garde category. The runner-up of Avant Garde was Paudie Walshe from CATS, and River’s Lisa Moloney won the Up-styling Award.

CATS Hair Salon came out on top with Arron Bradazon and Siobhán O’Mahony being given the prestigious title of overall In Salon Winners. Against the backdrop of a screening of the energetic and glamorous L’Oreal Colour Trophy 2013, these winners were recognised for their contribution to the industry. For them it is acknowledgment of their professionalism, skill and dedication. For us it is an assurance that all five salons in the Hugh Campbell Hair Group are staffed by stylists and colourists who are at the top of their game and at the cutting-edge of trends.
