The winners of the first ever Happli.co.uk English Hair and Beauty Awards were announced on the evening of the 6th of May 2012 at a glittering bash at the Midland Hotel in Manchester. Nominations came in from all over England and the race to be crowned at this year’s debut awards ceremony was an extremely tight contest. 

Over 300 guests attended the glamorous event, including gorgeous host, Miss United Kingdom Super national, Rachelle Perez, YouTube sensation Carolyn Baxter and Katie Piper, the founder of the Katie Piper Foundation. Director of Creative Oceanic, Irfan Younis said,

The 2011 Happli.co.uk English Hair and Beauty Awards followed in the footsteps of the Scottish version and proved to be a fantastic success, both supporting our charity partner The Katie Piper Foundation as well as paying tribute to the hair and beauty community within England. We are confident this will be the first of many successful English Hair and Beauty Awards and we cannot wait to see what next year brings

Lifetime Achievement Award – presented by Katie Piper of the Katie Piper Foundation, went to Peter Collinge.

The Lifetime Achievement Award winner went to Peter Collinge, hairdresser and founder of one of the UK's most respected hairdressing companies.   Peter Collinge, 84, was awarded an OBE in the New Year. He began hairdressing on Richmond Street in 1942 before opened his first salon 10 years later.  This year the 84-year-old celebrates both an amazing 70 years in the business and 60 years since he opened his first salon.  His son Andrew now leads the award winning chain of salons and barbers.
