Trevor Sorbie Hosts ÔThe EventÕ

Sunday November 23rd saw the gathering of the Trevor Sorbie family (spanning five salons and head office) for an afternoon packed with creativity and exciting announcements.

Trevor kicked off proceedings by taking to the stage and reflecting on his 50 years in hairdressing, before setting out his vision of the brand’s future, which included the news that Trevor Sorbie will be opening an academy in Shanghai, China in January 2015, with opportunities for the team to travel out and educate there.

Next was the final of the Assistant Competition, where six finalists presented their models and mood boards to the company before Gianmarco Catapona was announced as the winner. More tension came with the announcing of the Photographic Awards and Business Awards. Tiziana di Marcelli triumphed in both, landing the accolades of Sorbie Image of the Year and Employee of the Year.

The PURE photographic awards invited entrants to submit an un-retouched artistic shot taken on their smart phone or camera, and winners included Ilaria Capitanelli, a salon assistant, whom Trevor congratulated for such an impressive shot.

The afternoon continued with incredible artistic demonstrations and shows from the Art Team Part Deux, various art team members, and Johanna Cree Brown, who closed proceedings with three awe-inspiring models. After the five hour extravaganza the team took over the Balls Brothers venue for their Christmas party, including a very competitive ‘Strictly’ inspired dance off.
