TH1 Hair, a multi award-winning hairdressing salon in Oxted, Surrey, has added three more successes to its bumper year by scoring two accolades at the prestigious 2019 Surrey Salon Awards, as well as being revealed as a finalist in the 2019 British Hairdressing Awards.
These latest achievements follow a year of great success for the exemplary brand, including a 10% rise in client bookings, investment in eight members of staff, and industry recognition both in the UK and worldwide.
TH1 Hair owner and director, Thomas Hills scooped the Stylist of the Year category at the Surrey Salon Awards for his devotion to the hairdressing craft and for his creativity showcased in his stunning hairdressing work. Thomas also won the award in the Creative Image category for producing an inspirational style that would appeal to mass consumers. The theme was ‘Luxe’, and Thomas’s finished look was refined, sculptured and exuded class. Both awards were present by industry icon, Errol Douglas MBE.
The team at TH1 are no strangers to the awards circuit, having previously been honoured with a plethora of impressive awards during its 15 years in business. These include Thomas taking the title of Southern Hairdresser of the Year at the 2017 British Hairdressing Awards, which are hailed as the Oscars of the hairdressing industry. Thomas has been shortlisted for this award again this year and will discover if he is successful at a glittering award ceremony held on the 25th November in London.
Thomas is forward thinking in all areas integral to the evolution of the TH1 Hair brand, with his leadership characterised by his creation of a clear strategy for the future development of his salon and by his willingness to engage with others, encourage team development, invest in people, and take measured risks.
These attributes have contributed heavily to TH1 Hair’s success and further cement Thomas’s reputation as a leader in his field in the Surrey area and beyond. Not only is Thomas recognised by his peers in the industry in the UK, but he has also received worldwide recognition for his stunning work and has graced the pages of leading hairdressing publications including Creative Head (UK), Hairdressers Journal (UK), HTrends (Italy), Frizor (Slovenia) and Hair & Beauty International (Lithuania). Thomas said:
This year has been an incredible platform for us, and we are delighted to receive external validation from the Surrey Salon Awards. A great deal of hard work, passion, drive and creativity have brought us to this point, and I believe that by having a clear vision, defined goals and by continuing to motivate and inspire my team that we can continue to push creative and business boundaries, whilst raising and improving hairdressing industry standards.
