What An Exciting Year So Far For Team Medusa

Currently in their sixth year in business, the team at Medusa Hairdressing, Southsea are having an incredible 2017.

Awards and Achievements

The Medusa team recently attended a Hair Council event, held at Not Another Salon, London, where all team members became State Registered Hairdressers.

It has also been announced that Medusa is a finalist in the Salon of the Year category 2 of the Hairdressers Journal Business Awards. This is a national award with only six finalists in each category, and the team are beyond excited and can’t wait for the finals on 11th September.

Five Stars have been given to the salon by their software provider, PHOREST. Awarded for their continuous five star reviews that they receive from the public, Medusa has been placed in the top 5% of salons for three years running. Five Star recognition was also awarded for the second year in a row to Medusa by Good Salon Guide, as well as them receiving a finalist position in the English Hair and Beauty Awards for excellent customer service.

And finally to round off their award-winning streak, salon owner Belinda Cleary received an outstanding partnership award from Portsmouth College and HAHA Training Academy for her commitment to training and apprenticeships. All of Medusa’s apprentices have been fast tracked due to the extra training provided by Belinda. Poppy was Apprentice of the Year at the Portsmouth News Hair and Beauty Awards and Lilli is the face of Portsmouth College’s apprenticeship drive. They are both exceptionally talented stylists. The team now have Mollie completing her Level 3 and Megan just about to begin her Level 3 - both on their way to being equally talented stylists.

Creativity

Medusa Hairdressing are now stocking Sexy Hair styling products, which are paraben, sulphate, gluten and cruelty free, and they smell amazing. On the back of this, the team were invited to do a photo shoot with Barry Jefferies, where they created images for Sexy Hair’s PR.

Salon stylist Poppy SRSH and make-up artist Megan styled the lovely Jerry Williams for her photo shoot to promote her latest single and gig. Jerry is a local up-and-coming singer and musician, who gigs all around the country and has been featured on Radio One.

On Saturday 17th July, Belinda flew out to Milan to work Milan Men’s Fashion Week at the invitation of R+Co. Belinda worked on four shows in four very different venues including Munsoo Kwon and DAKS London. R+Co is another fabulous product range that the salon offers, which is also paraben, sulphate, gluten and cruelty free.

And whilst all this award-winning and creativity has been going on, the salon has also had a refit, increasing from five styling stations to seven, as well as introducing new luxury basins and an updated décor.
