The celebrities were out in force last night as Hollywood witnessed the 87th Academy Awards (The Oscars) ceremony. Scarlett Johansson and Emma Stone were among the star-studded attendees on the red carpet, but who stole the show with the best hair?
Hairdresser and stylist to the stars, Paul Edmonds comments on the hottest trends of the evening.......
One of my favourite natural blonde bombshells, Naomi Watts, wore a long bob gently waved to soft perfection, whilst my client Margot Robbie sported a blunt bob with movement through the front to create a glamorous finish. The classic and long bob are both timeless looks.
Chrissy Teigen looked elegant with long and beautiful waves; dark blonde hair with halo highlights, blonder at the front and balayage at the ends. Since I styled Felicity Jones’s hair for The Theory of Everything, she has opted for a broken-up soft long fringe and upswept hair. She always looks so innocent yet immaculately groomed.
Scarlett Johansson rocked a cropped sided and lifted top dressing on her hair, which gave the impression of an up-do but with extra edge. Marion Cotillard’s 70’s chignon - asymmetric side sweeping front twisted role into a low chignon. Julianne Moore wore a side parted low nape chignon, which was perfectly executed.
Rita Ora sported a sleek low side parting in ash blonde, showing how sexy short hair can be. Cate Blanchett wore her hair away from the face, which gives softness by being kept slightly unruly and tousled.
Sienna Miller left her messy bob home and came with a look straight from the catwalk. Her textured hair was pulled back with a chignon but left slightly unkempt to compliment her Oscar de le Renta dress. Rosamund Pike also achieved the ruffled chignon swept softly back from the face.
