Bang on Trend for 2013!

Share

Creative Director of Cientè and award-winning stylist Hayley Welling predicts the styles and trends that will be big in 2013.

2013 haircuts and hair trends are more personal than even the clothes we wear. Our haircut and colour says a lot about us, and like clothing much depends on our own style and taste and working environment. Here is my guide to the key trends for 2013.

FRINGE

The fringe has been lingering on the hair trend list for the last several years. The fringe is an option for those wanting a change or something new. Soft textured fringes as well as heavy blunt fringes are big for this year.

THE BOB

Bob hairstyles are making their mark from sleek jaw length fringed versions to wavy and textured! Thinking of going shoulder length, then opt for the volume; texture and sex kitten appeal of the 1960 mod bob.

1960s

Big, bouffant and sexy brings a number of hairstyles to 2013. These may take a bit of back combing and teasing with hairspray for hold, but well worth a big sexy look.

TOMBOY

A range of boyish hairstyles came onto the catwalk for fall 2012, inspired by androgynous fashions. Going into 2013 you will see sleek, strong lines followed by a little texture and softness.

HAIR-UP

Tomboy ponytails seen on the runway of the Paul Smith collections shows a little texture and sexiness with a small amount of volume, whilst quiffs with a little wave give a punk look.

Plaited hair running through the sides of the head and into the ponytail sees a big comeback for summer 2013.

Our inspiration came from 1960s fashion, our collection Elegancia brings this era up-to-date to create class, grace and high style. Our collection of styles brings a mixture of Sharpe, soft lines and a mixture of texture through curls.
