Caring for Arabic Hair

Share

Arabic women have always been very concerned about the beauty of their hair, as the texture is strong, curly, and is normally grown to amazing lengths that can be easily damaged if the correct hair process is not followed.

We caught up with Ihab, owner and main hair master of Colorista Ladies Salon in Abu Dhabi to get his expert tips on how to care for your Arabic hair…

It is well known that the Gulf climate is harsh with super high temperatures and humidity, so you must take extra special care of your hair.

Throughout history, Arabian women have applied dairy products to their hair as opposed to using chemical shampoos and soaps to maintain healthy and shiny hair. Most cosmetic hair products make your hair appear shiny while doing nothing to help you restore your hair to good health.

So, what can you do to improve your hair?

  • Avoid over-drying and the over-use of hot tools
  • Protect your hair from the drying and bleaching effects of the sun
  • Drink lots of water to keep hair roots hydrated

Ihab highlights the importance of using a home hair treatment, which will surprise you in easy use and great results. For example, in every Arab household olive oil is a staple ingredient. Olive oil is rich in antioxidants and A & E vitamins to help lock in moisture, promote hair growth, prevent hair loss, and keep the scalp healthy. A few drops of olive oil can be massaged into your scalp to increase blood circulation and supply nutrients to your hair.

Ihab’s top tip:

Don't wait until your hair is damaged to reach for a hair treatment. There are a few treatment services that Colorista Ladies Salon can offer you:

  • Botox
  • Keratin
  • Collagen Filler
  • Gelatina Mask

We hope to see you soon to help with your hair’s recovery!
