Essential Looks AW15: The Age of Beauty

Share

The next edition of Essential Looks is here! Once again, Schwarzkopf Professional has channelled the latest catwalk trends into unique and fashionable hairstyles.

Inspired by the most sought-after designers in global fashion, the Essential Looks collections offer direction and style insights for Schwarzkopf Professional partner salons. Key trends have been crystallized into three stunning looks that hairdressers can immediately adapt to consumer styles: Silver Glory, Layered Chic and Heritage Blend.

The 38th edition of Essential Looks is dedicated to a topic that’s currently experiencing a social revolution: ageing. The Age of Beauty collection is redefining age and making a clear statement. Instead of masking or combating the signs of ageing - our own beauty and individuality is being brought back into focus.

Simon Ellis, Schwarzkopf’s International Creative Director, emphasises the core message of the Age of Beauty collection,

Today’s more mature consumers want to celebrate their individuality without missing out on current trends.

The collection is devoted to the individual styling preferences of mature consumers and offers techniques and products that are especially adapted to the changing needs of their hair.

Silver Glory

Steve Hogan, Creative Director of Essential Looks, explains, "the Silver Glory trend focuses on timeless classics that consumers love for their elegance and detail".

Stylish and ladylike, sleek trouser suits are back in trendy black – and as a fashion basic, the little black dress has also not been forgotten, embodying timeless appeal.

Classic and timeless: these qualities are present throughout the trend and can also be found in Schwarzkopf Professional salons. With Igora Royal Absolutes Silverwhite, Silver Glory celebrates mature, grey hair and emphasises the beauty of our natural hair colour. Refined with silver accents, grey tones will take on a fresh, new shine. The result is colour perfection! Combined with classic cuts like an elegant bob or styled high with the OSiS+ Session Label Strong Hold Hair Spray, grey hair doesn’t have to stick to the rules – it can take on all shapes and nuances.

Layered Chic

It’s time for layers and levels! The upcoming season hails the return of chunky knits and layered looks. There are no limits to this combination; long tops are worn over dresses and cardigans under capes. Steve Hogan says, “Layered Chic is a bold, yet simple fashion statement”. Whether it’s cool short styles or luxuriously long manes, a unique, expressive style is guaranteed.

Meanwhile, Igora Royal Absolutes shades offer maximum grey coverage and warm tones for the perfect colour accompaniment. Using techniques like the incorporation of lighter shades in the front parts of the hair, you can also form a natural frame around the face.

Heritage Blend

Heritage Blend revives prints and checked patterns, uniting classic style with off-the-wall statements. What’s the dress code for your age? Natural, confident and unique! “This is a style with a statement, without putting on an act,” confirms Hogan. Alongside cool styles and modern, structured shapes, the right hair colour will also guarantee that sought-after natural look. Since hair loses its shine and youthful vigour as we age, we tend to search for new colours that will look as natural as possible.

Igora Royal Absolutes Age Blend does just that, restoring mature hair’s natural glow. Ten new shades will blend in with the consumer’s natural hair colour and leave it with a gorgeous shine. This natural look especially suits a more mature complexion, which often gets lighter with age. Confident, unique and style-conscious – that’s the new attitude to life for mature women!
