ghd’s Beauty Resolutions

Share

With 2018 over and done with, it’s a great time to start thinking about the New Year resolutions you want to follow in 2019. But if you’re not sure what resolutions you should be making for your tresses in the New Year, ghd UK ambassador, Zoe Irwin explains which tips you need to put on your bucket list for a year of good hair days.

Care for your scalp...

Massaging your scalp daily for ten minutes has an incredible effect on the hair. It will relieve tension and also increase the blood flow for thicker, healthier, longer hair. Sweeping your ghd paddle brush (£20) along the scalp lightly can help stimulate hair growth by improving blood circulation to the scalp. Paddle brushes are also the gentlest form of brushes. The rounded ends ensure you cannot scratch the scalp, and the evenly spread out plastic bristles cause less tension when detangling to ensure the scalp isn’t damaged.

Upgrade your hairdryer...

Invest in a quality hairdryer for fast and efficient drying and to reduce heat damage. The ghd air hairdryer (£99) has a powerful 100W professional-strength motor and patented removable air filter that delivers high pressure air flow for super-fast drying, while advanced ionic technology reduces frizz and flyaways to give a smooth salon-style finish in half the time.

Use a treatment...

The underneath section of your hair is usually the part that gets the most abuse. It gets rubbed by your top, coat, scarf and also when you sleep. It’s this part of your hair that will make your overall hair look and feel healthier if it’s looked after. Use ghd's advanced split end therapy (£19.95), which helps bind broken fibres together to strengthen fragile and damaged hair. Use it every five washes; simply comb through shampooed hair, blow-dry and then pass your ghd platinum+ styler (£175) over the hair to seal in the product using heat.

Protect your hair...

Styling your hair with heat above 185° will cause vertical cracks along the hair cuticle, causing the cuticles to lift and split, resulting in irreversible damage to the hair. All ghd styling tools, including the ghd platinum+ styler (£175), maintain a constant temperature of 185°, the optimum temperature for healthy hairstyling without heat damage.
