ghd X Tommy Hilfiger

Tommy Hilfiger’s Tommy Now Rock Circus was in full swing at Camden’s iconic Roundhouse to launch his Fall 2017 collection where Eugene Souleiman, Wella Professionals Global Creative Director and ghd Fashion Week Ambassador, created individual rock inspired looks for each of the models.

The show came to life through a backdrop of aerial acrobatics, which set the scene for the reveal of the latest collection from TommyXGigi - headlined by the ultimate Tommy Girl, Gigi Hadid and joined by siblings Bella and Anwar.

There was a real rock concert feel to the show this season and for me, I wanted to create a look that was dishevelled, diverse and imperfect. I created an anti-cosmetic approach to the hair – juxtaposition to the glamorous make-up look to allow the girls personalities to come through.

The feeling for me is still a Tommy Girl, just tougher and more urban. She’s not text book pretty or perfectly groomed straight from the salon. She just naturally throws things together, has her own individual style – the kind of girl everyone wants to be. Totally effortless. - Eugene Souleiman

Get the look…

Eugene took a laid-back approach to getting the hair show-ready, using EIMI and ghd tools. Each look was individual and transported each model into the cool rock and roll Tommy world.

The vibe is very cool. I wanted the hair to have a loose, nonchalant look that was very youthful. The hair needed to look unwashed, a couple of days old from dancing away at your favourite gig. - Eugene Souleiman

To start, Eugene sprayed abundant amounts of Wella Professionals Elements Conditioning Leave in Spray at the roots. The ghd Curve Soft Curl Tong was used to create broken movement and disrupt the hair’s texture.

For Georgina May Jagger, I twisted her hair into a low ponytail and sprayed with EIMI Perfect Setting before letting the hair loose and diffusing with ghd Air Hair-dryer to create a natural wave. We sprayed a fine mist of EIMI Sugar Lift to create separation and increase the movement. - Eugene Souleiman

For other girls, Eugene used the ghd Curve Soft Curl Tong to create broken movement and disrupt the hair’s texture.

For this look, I wanted to craft a rock and roll feel to the hair. Voluminous hair was tamed by flattening the roots with a hair net blow-dried with the ghd Air Hair-dryer to create a clean centre parting. - Eugene Souleiman

EIMI Sugar Lift was used to tame the roots and on the ends of the hair to enhance the texture. A light mist of EIMI Perfect Setting was then applied to finish the look.
