International Colourist and the UK’s leading Balayage expert, Jack Howard comments on the red-carpet colour at the Golden Globes.
Gillian Anderson, a long time client of mine showed off her babylights with a sweeping up-do. Babylights are the perfect technique for an eternal youthful look. Ultra delicate, superfine strands are coloured to give a childlike glisten to the hair.
A winner on the night, Claire Foy traded her crown and nailed it with an undone up-do with perfect face-framing pieces at the front. This colour can be achieved with my Rio technique which takes just 30 minutes – think contouring for the hair.
Chrissy Teigen is one of those stars that always nails it for me, the sleek sexy pony is sure to be a red-carpet staple this awards season. She looked fabulous. Her colour taps into the new Tiger Eye colour, a micro-trend using the balayage technique – warm, multi-tonal and bespoke to the wearer.
Another winner on the night, La La Land ‘s Emma Stone made the most of her gorgeous healthy red shade with an effortless up-do.
