Make a Statement with Hair Accessories

Share

We realise that party season will be different this year, however when you do manage to socialise, you will want to make an impact. The best way to do that. With gorgeous hair and statement hair accessories!

ghd Ambassador and accessory queen, Zoë Irwin, shares her top tips on how to add fun and personality to your hair look by experimenting with hair accessories.

The Party Crown

Headbands will transform a simple hair look into the ultimate party do’. Whether you want to wear your hair down or tie it up, headbands work well for both long and short hair. Jewelled headbands are a big statement this season and will have you sparkling under the spotlight.

Statement Clips

Clips are big again this season and are a simple but effective way to add a statement to your hair look. Whether you want to opt for a bold worded clip or colourful bobby pins (as seen at Olivia Rubin AW20), this will instantly add some impact to your look – and is ideal if you are rushed for time.

Go Big with Bows

This season, it is all about the bows – they have become much more oversized and playful, the bigger the bow, the better! What I really like about accessorising with a bow is being experimental with the different colours and textures. Adding a bow is such a great way to elevate any look and suits all occasions - parties, Christmas day with the family or even the boardroom! This will instantly add impact to any hair look – and is ideal if you are rushed for time but want to look like you have made an effort.

Accessory Styling Secrets

Before accessorising, you must always prep the hair to ensure it holds well. Start with ghd root lift spray (£14.50), as this prevents any style from falling flat, and then style with the ghd rise hot brush (£169) to get 2X more volume and create fullness and bounce. This product and tool combination works extremely well, as it not only gives the accessories extra grip, but it will make your hair appear a lot fuller - whether you are styling it in a pony or having your hair down.

All styling products and tools are available in the finest salons, department stores and ghdhair.com.
