PRADA SS21 X GHD

Share

This Milan Fashion Week, Prada proved that virtual fashion presentations are just as impactful as watching the show in person, by live streaming their SS21 collection.

Marking a special moment for the brand, Prada revealed their first ever co-designed collection in partnership with Raf Simons, which was a combination of the Prada traditional house designs with an edgy element.

Guido Palau created the ‘lived in’ hair for the show and gave every model a haircut. Guido says, “For the Prada show, the inspiration was a combination of a Prada classical approach to individual beauty and a Raf Simons tribe. For the hair reference we looked at early Raf Simons, Prada bourgeois mixed with 70’s and early 80’s haircuts and Sassoonism.”

The Hair

‘For Prada, we prepped all the girl's hair the night before in order to let them sleep on their hair to allow for a more ‘lived in’ texture. Every girl had a haircut. Fringes were blunt and grown out, either in the eyes or below the cheekbones, the ends shattered and 'worn in’. The short haircuts had blunt fringes with grown out ends. - Guido

We prepped freshly washed hair by blow-drying straight and smooth using the ghd helios hairdryer, which gives fast drying and smooth results. Then we ran the ghd platinum+ styler through the top layer to tame down any frizz. The girls then slept on their hair so on the day of the show it had that slightly ‘lived in’ feel.
