Vicious Mohawk
For the Mohawk we started off with DALLAS Thickening Spray – applying it on damp hair. Afterwards, we coated the hair with GRID Structural Hold Setting Spray for a thick, strong texture. We then had the model lay his head flat on a table and sprayed it with VICIOUS Strong Hold Flexible Hairspray – and we used cold air to make the Mohawk extra shiny and stiff.
Tucked Braids
We wanted to give the illusion of short hair, even if the models had long hair. First, we created a tiny ponytail at the base of the neck, braided it into two braids – spraying VICIOUS Strong Hold Flexible Hairspray along each braid. Afterwards we flat-ironed the braids and pinned them into a triangle at the nape of the neck. Taking the hair from the top, we brushed it up and over the triangle – and secured it with elastic. With the remaining excess hair – we braided, flat-ironed and secured it again with elastic. Lastly, we tucked the braids up underneath and pinned it with two u-pins.
For the models with a severe parting – we coated their hair with VICIOUS Strong Hold Flexible Hairspray. This show was essentially sponsored by VICIOUS. It was VICIOUS.
Au Naturale
For the natural looks we cocktailed the new PALM SPRINGS Pre-Shampoo Treatment Mask, DALLAS Thickening Spray and a bit of water – then diffused it into the hair. We wanted the models to have a natural, semi-greasy, undone look.
Pompadour Tease
We started by diffusing AIRCRAFT Pomade Mousse into the hair. I then sprayed VICIOUS Strong Hold Flexible Hairspray to the top of the hair, using the new R+Co Comb to comb the shape in. Lastly, we pinned it all off – diffusing the hair until it was hard and shiny.
Flat-Ironed Blonde
That look was all OUTER SPACE Flexible Hairspray. We panelled off her entire head – using OUTER SPACE and flat-ironing each section until it was poker-straight. We didn’t touch it, break it up, but let it be what it was.
Hair by Garren, Cofounder of R+Co
The Anna Sui Fall/Winter 2017 collection was inspired by Elsa Schiaparelli and the parties she used to throw featuring elements of décor with various textures including ruffles, lace and fringe, to name a few.
Garren, celebrity hairstylist and R+Co Cofounder, used R+Co products to create various looks based on length and texture - the main look being a modern version of the rolled hair continued, speaking of the various styles seen on the runway.
For models with curly textures, TWISTER Curl Primer was used to define the wave and curl, while the hair was styled into a bowl cut on models with shorter hair.
