Refresh your Hair this Spring

As we have entered official British summertime it can only mean one thing... a spring hairstyle to compliment the SS15 trends.

We’re all thinking about a new wardrobe, and this season’s fashion is all about fringes, pleats, metallic details and denim edits, which is why Paul Edmonds is sharing his hot hair looks to compliment the spring trends.

Key trends include embellishments, which have already made a strong appearance on the red carpet from Shailene Woodley, Gemma Arterton and Keira Knightley, and can be created by incorporating metallic accessories, leather or lace binding, or pearl or jewelled beads placed into the hair.

A popular salon technique is to use an elastic thread. Take a long piece of thread and as you plait you sew and add your chosen accessory into the thread and continue to alternate your plait sewing. If you’re really adventurous, then rings or feathers can be woven in on each section of the braid to enhance the overall style.

Ponytails can also be spiced up with a diamante buckle or embellishment at the knot. Jewelled hair clips or grips are another way to update the sleek hair look. A quick and easy way of embellishing your hair is to use a necklace and use either fine pins or invisible thread, using a blunt darning needle, to sew it into the hair.

Short plaits are trending and there is a touch of festival braids this SS15 where the pre-ruffled up hair is brought back loosely and plaited, or a few underneath sections are braided to appear through wavy hair.

Other favourite hair trends include the Haim natural wave and the Toga wet-to-dry combination, as seen on LFW 15 catwalks. To recreate these signature looks visit the Paul Edmonds blog: www.pauledmondslondon.com/paul-edmonds-at-london-fashion-week.
