A fantastic career opportunity has arisen within the fabulous new Browns flagship salon. In order to join browns we require the candidate to have a minimum Level 2 qualification. However Level 3 would be more desirable. The training, or updating of skills, would last 6 months, and be carried out by the browns creative team. Training would occur one day per week, with the opportunity to visually learn daily by watching Nelson and his senior team in the salon environment. After the 6 months training programme the candidate would sit a number of assessments in order to progress onto clients on the salon floor.
Browns are looking for candidates with specific qualities and attributes. They must be passionate and hungry to learn, reliable and want to progress in a career in hairdressing. Candidates need to have a positive and hardworking work ethic, and have a can do attitude. With these qualities browns can assist the young person with their confidence and skill.
Browns are offering excellent education for the right candidate, and want to welcome them into the browns family. Browns team members look after one another and will encourage the new team member to grow and be successful with a friendly atmosphere.
We suggest perspective candidates take an opportunity to work with our team for 4/5 days as a trial week. This would allow candidates to familiarise themselves with the browns team, salon and job role. On the last trial day the candidates’ parents will be invited to meet the management team and discuss the child hair career, and progression with browns. This would also be a great opportunity to familiarise yourself with the town of Dumfries.
For the right candidate, as part of the initial agreement, browns would pay for 3 months rent. Accusation would be located in the heart of Dumfries. This would allow candidates to be within walking distance of the salon.
After this 3 month period, browns will pay 50% of the candidates rent for an additional 3 month period. Browns therefore are offering the candidate financial support with rent for a total of six months. After six months, the employee would be expected to pay the full amount of rent.
Salary for employees is dependent on age. The 6 month training period will run in line with the national minimum wage. Once the training period is complete, browns will review the salary. Once team members take clients, the browns salon group work on commission and have an excellent pay structure.
