Rainbow Room International is situated in Glasgow city centre. The 7,500 square foot state-of-the-art salon is one of the largest facilities in Europe. It houses a large working salon area, classrooms, boardroom and two large studios, all with excellent facilities.
Rainbow Room International offer a wide range of courses including Salon Creative, Master Retail, Long Hair Dressing and a range of advanced hairdressing courses.
The facilities are also available to hire to product manufacturers.

SVQ/Modern Apprentice Level 2
This full-time programme is made up of a series of units and modules covering everything from cutting, colouring, treatments and perming to reception work and customer care. You'll be coached and mentored by experienced stylists who are passionate about developing new talent.
You'll be based in a salon four days a week, and train in the Academy one day (either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday). You'll need to source models to work on every week for assessments, and bring your equipment to the Academy on training days.
We ask you submit a written application form. If it's successful, we'll be in touch within 28 days to arrange an interview.
Student Level: Over 16s. No formal experience required, just bags of enthusiasm and a hard-working approach.
Format: Demos, theory and practical – 9.30am - 5.30pm
Duration: Approximately 12 months
Start Dates: Ongoing, interviews held every month
You’ll Achieve: City and Guilds SVQ Level 2 and Habia MA Certificate
Price: Funding for Modern Apprenticeships is provided at no cost to the student
Level 3 is one of the highest practical Hairdressing qualifications you can get. You'll work in one of our salons four days a week and attend the Academy one day (either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday). In addition, you'll be expected to keep up-to-date by attending product demonstrations, training events and night classes. You'll need to source models to work on every week for assessments, and bring your equipment to the Academy on training days.

Student Level: Over 16s who have already completed SVQ Level 2 (or equivalent)
Format: Demos, theory and practical – 9.30am - 5.30pm
Duration: Approximately 12 months
Start Dates: Ongoing, interviews are held every month and Academy inductions are every eight weeks

SVQ Level 2
This full-time programme is the fast-track route to SVQ Level 2, and is made up of a series of units and modules covering everything from cutting, colouring, treatments and perming to reception work and customer care. You'll be trained by experienced stylists who are passionate about developing new talent.
The programme is a mix of theory and practical training. Theory will make up around six hours of your week, and the rest of your time will be spend working on models in the Academy salon. On completion, you will be qualified to become a junior stylist, or progress to the SVQ Level 3.
We ask you submit a written application form. It's important to apply at least two months in advance of the course starting, to allow time for the interview process.
Student Level: No hairdressing experience necessary
Format: Demos, theory and practical – Monday – Friday 9.00am - 5.30pm
Duration: 26 weeks
Start Dates: Two intakes a year – March/April and September/October
You’ll Achieve: City and Guilds SVQ Level 2
Price: £7,000. Funding may be available. Deposit of £2,000 required before start
This fast-track course for Level 3 is a full-time programme covering everything from advanced cutting, creative colouring and creative styling to organising and styling a photoshoot. It's a 26-week programme resulting in SVQ Level 3 and the Rainbow Room International Diploma.
The programme is made up of seminars, interactive training sessions, hands-on practical sessions, lectures, text books, electronic presentations, live demonstrations, outside educators and online training. On completion, you will be a fully-qualified stylist, and can go on to work in a salon or train to become an Assessor or Manager.
Places are limited and entrance is by interview only. We ask you submit a written application form in the first instance. It's important to apply at least two months in advance of the course starting, to allow time for the interview process.

This intensive, full-time course is our fastest route to hairdressing success and covers all aspects of hairdressing to an advanced level. During the programme you will learn a variety of techniques in all aspects of hairdressing. This will include creative styling, dressing long hair, creative cutting and colouring techniques.
The programme is designed for those wish to pursue a career in hairdressing at an advanced level or who want to manage a salon or become a lecturer in the future. It's delivered by highly-experienced Stylists who are also qualified Assessors.
