Meet some of the Good Salon Guide team members...
Gareth is Good Salon Guide’s Managing Director and one of the Guide owners. He is the fourth generation of his family to work in the hair and beauty industry and is passionate about standards in training, especially encouraging young people to enter such an exciting and rewarding industry.
While he is frequently at the end of a phone advising member salons on a whole range of issues, Gareth loves to get out and visit Good Salon Guide salons in whatever country they may be located! He loves to see hair, beauty and nail salons grow, prosper and reap the benefits of membership. And, he plans to do exactly the same for the next 25 years while encouraging mores salons in new and exciting locations to get on board.
Stephanie Albinson was appointed National Sales Manager for Good Salon Guide in 2014. As well as covering her own area which runs from the Midlands upwards, Stephanie recruits and trains the Area Sales Managers, runs the sales team and sets targets.
Most recently she has spearheaded the development of our new videos explaining key processes of joining the Guide. With Good Salon Guide rapidly expanding overseas, Stephanie has been instrumental in launching, training and developing the Guide and sales teams in both Malta and, most recently the UAE. Away from the office, Stephanie is a real dog lover and likes to spend time with her collie cross German Shepherd Dog named Bear.
Martin Durrant is our UK Key Account Manager. He comes from a long line of hairdressers having been born into a hairdressing family. He’s been in the hair and beauty industry for over 15 years and is passionate about quality and standards within salons.
Joining GSG five years ago allowed Martin to make his passion a reality and he loves meeting new salon owners who are ready to take their business to the next level. Whatever the size or scale of a salon or salon group, Martin believes GSG membership is always a great investment. For Martin, the best part of his job is the look on someone’s face when they realise just how many services their membership buys!
Amanda Sawyer is an Area Co-ordinator/Sales Manager working in the south west of England. She’s an expert when it comes to all things visual having worked for several years in merchandising and promotions. With a strong beauty and hair background working with industry giants YSL and Darphin, Amanda has incredible experience and knowledge which she loves sharing with Good Salon Guide clients.
After four years with Good Salon Guide, Amanda’s favourite part of her work life is giving recognition to well deserving salons and thereby raising their profile. Her favourite part of her home life is her outstanding handbag collection!
Jackie Logan is a Senior Area Manager covering Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. As a qualified beauty therapist, Jackie has spent 25 years working in the industry in a whole variety of roles.
She started out working on cruise ships travelling around Europe and the Caribbean and then travelled the length and breadth of the UK working in field sales within the spa industry. She joined Good Salon Guide in 2009 and has loved meeting so many new people. Her favourite part of the job is helping salons realise their full potential and getting them to maximise what they offer. They can then enjoy the recognition they deserve via their Good Salon Guide membership!
Angie Walton is our busy office manager. She has been with Good Salon Guide for seven years and undertakes a whole range of tasks. From sending out welcome packs to member salons to arranging travel for our sales team, Angie ensures our head office runs smoothly.
Angie has not worked in the hair and beauty sector before but has had a variety of jobs within office administration. Working with salons though has been perfect for Angie as she loves the industry and has even taught herself to do nail extensions. Supporting the whole team is the best part of Angie’s job that she most enjoys and, when she is not in work, she loves spending time with her Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Buddy.
Working as our office administrator means that Kerry has not only a very busy job, but a hugely varied one too!
From providing admin support, to managing on-line bookings, reassessments and new signings, Kerry is totally indispensible. Having worked as an administrator in a number of industries, including healthcare and property management, Kerry loves working in the hair and beauty sector. She has always loved everything to do with salons so she enjoys supporting our team and our members. Designing Good Salon Guide web pages also allows her to give reign to her creative side, so this is another favourite part of her job.
Jodie Withers is the Editor of Good Salon Guide. She looks after all the content on the busy website, handles our social media, produces articles that appear online and in the press and is responsible for our gorgeous magazine.
As a trained hairdresser and beautician, Jodie knows the industry inside out and has also managed many hair salons. She is constantly creatively stimulated by the work produced by members and, as a qualified graphic designer, she loves brining the images to life in our glossy magazine which showcases the talented teams working within our member salons.
