Background

The Good Salon Guide was launched in 1993 in response to consumer demand, and although we started with hair salons, we now work across hair, beauty and training. Our services include providing free hair advice and connecting you with a reliable Hair Doctor for any of your hair concerns.

Salons are professionally assessed against objective criteria and rated accordingly. If a salon meets a set of minimum standards, it is given Registered status. Thereafter salons are rated as 3, 4 or 5 Star. Alongside the star rating we also award recognition for Training, Barbers, Blow-dry, Extensions Artist, Colour Expert, Creative Excellence, ECO Salon, Trichologists, Wig specialists and Freelancers.
