I have long, very dark brown hair and about 10% grey. I usually have the grey blended to my natural shade with permanent colour but I was wondering whether using a warm medium brown semi-permanent colour on the grey instead would give the effect of medium brown highlights?
Your advice would be much appreciated,

Dear Ali,
I suggest that you colour the roots dark brown and then have a T-Section of highlights along with a pre-lighten bleach of 1.9% peroxide. Apply a toner over the highlights using a medium brown semi-permanent which will then give you the results you are after.
