A panel of experts will debate the industry's topics for the Influence of Style event as part of the Celebration of Style. The likes of experts working for fashion designer Matthew Williamson, expert hairstylist Andrew Collinge, fashion brand Matalan and the city's high-end boutique Cricket will come together to debate some of the fashion and beauty industry's most talked about topics.

The experts will discuss at the Influence of Style exhibition on Friday 14th November, as part of the Celebration of Style three day event.

The Influence of Style event at the Rum Warehouse in the Titanic Hotel at Stanley Dock, gives attendees the chance to get an insight into the industry and receive the best tips, and will also have a range of fashion stands such as Illamasqua, Nails Inc, Kiehl’s and Oasis and many more showcasing their latest collections.

A series of three seminars will be held at the Influence of Style exhibition, with Shelley Walley, buying manager at ladies wear Matalan, David Mellet, sourcing and technical director at Matalan, Caroline Herts, faculty curriculum co-ordinator at Manchester Metropolitan University, and Justine Mills, owner of Cricket, exploring what it is really like to work in the fashion industry during the first panel session.

The fashion experts will also offer advice on how to succeed in the industry.

The second seminar will feature top British hairstylist Andrew Collinge, celebrity make-up artist Cassie Lomas and stylist to the stars Lorraine McCulloch explaining how they turned their passion for fashion into a career, and now style a-list celebrities.

The third and final seminar will see Rosanna Falconer, communications director at Matthew Williamson, Stephen Shaw, marketing opportunities director at Blippar and fashion photographer Tim Bret Day debating the changing face of fashion, and how digital technology has changed marketing and brand building across the industry.

Denise Harris, Director of Celebration of Style, said,

The Influence of Style exhibition, which forms part of the three day Celebration of Style event, has been designed to inspire, motivate and mentor future talent. It will appeal to anyone with an interest in style, as well as those looking to break into the industry.

The world of fashion is notoriously competitive and it can be very difficult for even the most talented to get their first rung on the ladder. Influence of Style will provide a rare opportunity to learn from an interesting panel of experts, who have all managed to reach the top of their game.
