The team at Ashley Paul Hairdressing in Gloucester is celebrating after winning a place at the L’Oréal Colour Trophy Grand Final 2014.

The team fought off strong competition in the regional final and wowed a panel of high-profile award-winning judges with their Autumn/Winter 2014/15 fashion-inspired look.

Staff had 30 minutes to create their winning styles under the gaze of the judges at Cheltenham Racecourse on April 13. Celebrity presenter Layla Anna-Lee took the audience and competitors on a journey during the event, which started with a pre-show experience, including a styling stage with demonstrations, product reviews, a ‘selfie’ booth and mini makeovers.

After 1,000 entries and 500 regional finalists, the business has won a place alongside 47 other salons in the Grand Final.

Owner Ashley Paul said,

It’s been a 12 year ambition and we are ecstatic at the opportunity to be showcasing our creative talents in such a competitive sector. This is a massive team effort and great credit should go to everyone at the salon, a team that I am hugely proud of.

The L’Oréal Colour Trophy is thought to be the longest running live hairdressing competition in the world. This year will be its 59th. It will take place at the prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, on June 23.

The overall winners will pick up a prize package, which includes a photo shoot in London to showcase the winning look, a day training with an experienced session stylist, a fashion shoot with Elle Magazine, lunch with their hairdressing idol, and a comprehensive personalised plan to promote the salon’s win.

Ashley Paul Hairdressing, along with its partnering barber shop The Men’s Groom, have also been announced as regional finalists of the Men’s Image Award 2014.
