Savvy salon strategies, smart marketing and innovative management skills, not to mention stellar hair services, have earned Caroline Sanderson, director of Ego Hair Design in Inverness, the prestigious Business Thinker accolade at Creative HEAD magazine’s 2013 Most Wanted awards - which celebrate unrivalled star quality and recognise the very best in UK hairdressing.

At the gripping Grand Final, hosted by TV funny man and stand-up star Russell Kane at the awe inspiring Natural History Museum in London, Caroline was presented with her trophy to the cheers of a 600-strong audience including the who’s who of the hairdressing world, beauty industry bigwigs, fashion frontrunners and some of the UK’s leading business minds.

One of eleven Most Wanted categories announced on the night and judged by an esteemed panel of experts including make-up artist Jemma Kidd, Joshua Miller, joint managing director at Charlie Miller, and Michelle Feeney, CEO of PZ Cussons Beauty, Business Thinker victor Caroline has proved her commercial credentials having brought her salon back from the brink and gone on to mastermind a high-performing team, a booming clientele and even an online training academy. Joshua Miller said,

Caroline’s positivity is amazing, and she demonstrated exceptional financials. Wow!

Most Wanted honours the best of British hair talent, so it’s no surprise that hairdressing VIPs, influential beauty press and fashion insiders descended on the famous London landmark to celebrate this year’s outstanding roster of winners. Among the guests were beauty journalist and entrepreneur Anna-Marie Solowji, royally-recognised hairdresser Errol Douglas MBE, session star Sam McKnight – both also winners on the night – and Millie Kendall MBE, co-founder of BeautyMART.

From a sumptuous steak and chips dinner served under a giant Diplodocus skeleton, to a spellbinding presentation from hair superpower ghd and a cocktail-fuelled after-party, Creative HEAD pulled out all the stops to ensure its gorgeous, gifted guests experienced a taste of the high life in an evening long to be remembered. Catherine Handcock, publisher of Creative HEAD spoke of the evening by saying,

It was a spectacular night that paid tribute to a host of hairdressing stars, and placed some exciting new names in the spotlight. We’ve never had so many entries to Most Wanted, and they’ve never been of such a high standard. This year the field was world-class, and our winners should be rightfully proud of themselves.

Speaking of her win, Caroline Sanderson of Ego Hair Design said,

I am totally and utterly overwhelmed to have won Business Thinker – I can’t believe it! I think Inverness could be the furthest a Most Wanted award has travelled, so I’m really proud. It’s an incredible event and gorgeous venue – what a night!”
