Essex hairdressers tikadi receive top reward for HAIRraising charity efforts in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital ChildrenÕs Charity

Popular Essex salon group tikadi has been rewarded for its outstanding and unique efforts in fundraising for the HAIRraising campaign by John Frieda and founders of the campaign.

Local salon owners Michael Mehmet and Sharon Hennessey of tikadi Theydon Bois and Ongar attended a presentation evening in Central London's Winter Garden at the Institute of Child Health on Tuesday 23rd November 2010, where the salon group won the National Small Business and East England Small Business categories.  Salon owner Michael Mehmet was also awarded a special ‘Extra Length’ award for his inspiring and dedicated fundraising that resulted in the salon's contribution to the charity being the largest in their categories including staging a fashion show in June that was held at Woolston Manor Golf and Country Club – the Tikadi Summer Ball.  The HAIRraising campaign has raised in excess of £500,000 to date for the Great Ormond Street Hospital, world-renowned for helping children.

The tikadi team then enjoyed a celebratory lunch with several celebrity hairdressers and founders of the HAIRraising campaign including John Frieda himself, Nicky Clarke and Sanrizz's Tony Rizzo, amongst many others.  The well known and respected hairdresser Andrew Collinge also made an appearance in-salon to host a special training session for the team!  Not only this, the Essex salon owner will fly to Los Angeles to work with the John Frieda team for an entire week in May 2011.
