Local salon, Hair Lounge in Kelvedon has made it through to the semi-finals of the L’Oréal Colour Trophy Awards 2016.

The team will now go head-to-head with salons at the Backstage Live Final in April at the Imperial War Museum in Cambridge.

Hundreds of photographic images from across the country were judged by the most influential names in hairdressing including icon Charles Worthington MBE. Hair Lounge fought off stiff competition and was successfully chosen to go through to the Backstage Live Finals.

The next stage of the competition will put the team through their paces, as they will now have to create a live model look that demonstrates awareness for autumn/winter 2016/17 hair and fashion trends as outlined in the brief.

The model look must be original, modern and inspirational. The team of judges are looking for a trend-setting, show stopping total look that can inspire clients and hairdressers. Caroline Lane, Manageress of Hair Lounge Kelvedon, says,

For a village salon to be competing alongside internationally recognised salons is a testament to the amazingly talented team we have at Hair Lounge. Our ethos is simple - To bring the latest and very best of hairdressing from London to Kelvedon.

From these live events only the top four salons will go forward to compete at the L'Oréal Colour Trophy Grand Final to be held on 13th June in London. This stage leaves Hair Lounge just one step away from scooping the unparalleled prize of national media exposure and glamorous fashion shoots!
