HOB SalonsÕ Surprise 30th Anniversary Party

On Sunday 17th March The Mayfair Hotel, London played host to a surprise 30th Anniversary Party for the award-winning HOB Salons group. The three directors, Akin Konizi, Clive Collins and Paul Simbler, were led to believe they were attending a charity boxing event with General Manager Sean Dawson, only to be surprised by over 140 friends and family who had gathered to celebrate this milestone.

Supported by Business Partners Wella Professionals, the evening commenced with an informal champagne reception where guests gathered to stun the trio on their highly anticipated arrival. If that wasn’t enough the night continued with a further surprise as guests were led to the private cinema served with branded popcorn as they enjoyed an hour long documentary produced by D&A Films, looking back over the incredible 30 years HOB Salons have given to the hairdressing industry.

Taking to the stage, Wella Professionals Managing Director for UK & Ireland Daniel Minney delivered a moving tribute about the special relationship they share with the ‘HOB boys’ whilst General Manager Sean Dawson spoke on behalf of the whole company saying,

As a brand, we believe in developing people and if the people develop, then our brand will develop with them. As Paul Simbler says it’s all about the people! But tonight, on behalf of ALL our people, we want to say thank you.

Next on to the stage was the Guest of Honours Akin, Clive and Paul, and in an emotional filled response they thanked everyone for the evening with Akin deeming the entire room of guests, not only friends and colleagues, but ‘part of their whole family’.

Rounding off the evening, guests enjoyed cocktails and canapés in the fabulous Crystal Ballroom. Overwhelmed by the evening’s celebrations, Paul Simbler said,

It is so wonderful that we could share our 30 years with our close friends, family and our friends in the industry. An amazing evening that was cunningly put together - I can’t actually believe they pulled one over the three of us; however it was a night we will never forget. Thanks to Wella Professionals for all their support and all our special friends in the industry for their lovely wishes and gifts.
