Jim Shaw Announced as One of the Best Hairdressers in the World

Hairdresser, barber and owner of Essensuals Toni & Guy Billericay, Jim Shaw received the incredible news that he had won the Best International Men’s Commercial Collection in the International Hairdressing Awards.

A prestigious and world renowned photographic competition, the International Hairdressing Awards was created by a hairdresser for hairdressers and was founded with the aim of giving hairdressing the prestige it deserves. The awards are one of the most important in the industry, which recognises the best hairdressers around the globe, while at the same time awakening new vocations, discovering new talents and giving the best international professionals the prominence they deserve.

For Jim to win the Best International Men’s Commercial Collection in the International Hairdressing Awards is an incredible achievement, showing he is the master of his craft and one of the best hairdressers in the world. To enter the competition he had to submit four commercial men’s images, which were then assessed by a jury panel prior to deciding on the finalists. Three finalists were then announced before the five members of the jury had finished scoring the collections to decide on the category winner.

The awards night took place on February 3rd in Madrid, where Jim was announced as the winner of the Best International Men’s Category and was brought onto the stage in front of hundreds of other industry names from 30 different countries to collect his award. The glistening awards night also featured a purple carpet (the red carpet of the hairdressing industry) and a runway show, where seven of the most renowned hairdressing teams in the world presented their latest collections, including: The Beauty Underground (USA), Mikel Luzea (Spain), Revlon Global Art Team, Sanrizz (UK), Sassoon (UK), Toni&Guy (UK) and X-Presion (Spain).

To win the Best International Men’s Commercial Collection category in the International Hairdressing Awards is surreal, I just can’t believe it. Winning the award means the world to me.
