Karoliina Saunders Moves From Backstage to Centre Stage

Having worked backstage creating high fashion hair looks for some of the world’s leading designers, Karoliina Saunders got the chance to step on to the stage as the opening artist at HJ LIVE.

Taking to the stage to talk about creating catwalk ready hair, no one would have guessed that Karoliina herself had just hours earlier been successfully reunited with her missing hair kit! While she stepped off a plane from Milan having finished working at Milan Fashion Week, sadly her suitcase, containing her hair tools and kit she had bought specifically for HJ Live, never left Italy! With urgent prep to do for her show, Karoliina spent hours frantically making calls to locate her lost luggage only for it to turn up with just hours to spare.

But, knowing that the show must go on, in true trouper style Karoliina and assistant Jordy stayed up most of the night prepping hair, grabbed three hours sleep and then finished their work with minutes to go before hitting the stage at London’s ExCel! Having spent several years working with some of the biggest hair names at London, Paris, Milan and New York Fashion Weeks, Karoliina was the perfect choice to talk about tricks of the trade when it comes to creating full on catwalk and editorial hair looks. And, despite some scary hours praying for her hair kit to turn up, Karoliina loved the day and sharing her knowledge with such an enthusiastic audience,
