Limerick Stylist Receives International Industry Award From LÕOreal
Nicole O’Gorman, the well-known Limerick-based stylist, has received international recognition for her contribution to the world of styling at a recent awards event held in Reykjavik, Iceland.
Ms O’Gorman, who is based at Revas Spa in the popular town of Adare in County Limerick, is a member of the exclusive L’Oreal-owned Matrix Training Team who travel worldwide delivering top-level education to salons and individuals. At last month’s awards ceremony in Iceland, L’Oreal publicly acknowledged Nicole's contribution to the international training team with a presentation of the award for National Education Supporter of the Year for the UK and Ireland.
Nicole has been a part of the Matrix team since 2012, when she was recognised by L’Oreal who appointed her as a craft educator within their Matrix Division. The position sees her working regularly with celebrity hairstylists such as Jamie Stevens (X Factor), Alexander Turnbull (Great British Hairdresser), and Terry Longdon (The Salon) on various tours, shows and live events. In 2013 she was featured on the popular Channel 4 programme ‘Stripping for Summer’ featuring Gok Wan.
The esteemed award complements Nicole’s growing reputation within the industry as one of the most innovative, skilled and creative artists in the field. Her work has recently been showcased in the Good Salon Guide and her reputation as a creator of niche and expressive styles was noticed by the high-profile Irish Milliner Aisling Maher, who used Nicole exclusively for the creation of her current portfolio shots. Speaking of the win Nicole said,
I am honoured to have been chosen to receive this award. It was totally unexpected and utterly humbling – I’m delighted with the recognition and I really didn’t expect to hear my name! I just love what I do and to be acknowledged at this level is just amazing.
Nicole is also the founder of Nicole O’Gorman Hair Education, where she runs bespoke Up-styling Courses which are already booked out months in advance due to high demand. Since the business was formed, salons nationwide have commissioned Nicole to train their teams exclusively in the niche art of up-styling for their employees.
