Share

Are you the UK's top Hairdressing student? OR do you think you’ve trained them?

The Hair Council is now accepting nominations for the 2018 Awards and an Entry Pack with all the competition information can be downloaded here.

In order to take part in the Hair Council's UK Student of the Year Awards learners need to create a finished look and submit two photos of their model. Level 2 entrants will be asked to dress hair in a red carpet fashion and Level 3 will be asked to cut and blow-dry hair in an innovative style of their choice.

The judges are celebrity hairdressers Jamie Stevens, Andrew Barton and Patrick Cameron. The eight highest in each category will be asked to compete in the final.

It was so exciting to win! I really enjoyed the day and am still over the moon that I won. I’m looking forward to being able to promote myself with a new title and show off my beautiful little trophy. With the encouragement and advice I got from the judges afterwards I’m planning to do the best I can with some new knowledge and connections. I’ll be looking out for updates on the Hair Council’s progress and am truly inspired to become a part of it in the future. Liberty Clark, Level 2 winner 2017.

I am so proud and pleased to have won the Hair Council Student of the Year for the second year in a row! This last year has opened so many opportunities and has enabled me to grow as a stylist and as a person. I am proud to use SRH after my name and have so much more awareness of the importance of state registration which I have been promoting with my college, work place and on social media. I am looking forward to the year ahead and the opportunities that may arise from winning this amazing competition again. Jurgita Allen, Level 3 winner 2017.
