How to Recreate the Chic Balmain Pony with Jamie Stevens

At Jamie Stevens, we loved the uber chic ponytails that the models rocked on the Balmain spring/summer 16 catwalk. Ponies are a huge trend that we will be seeing a lot of over the next couple of seasons; here we have put together a simple how-to for you to recreate this stunning hair-up.

Step 1: Cleanse your hair with an oil-based shampoo and conditioner, such as the Kérastase Elixir Ultime range.

Step 2: Run some smoothing blow-dry cream through your hair, such as Matrix Total Results Blow Down Leave In Cream, then blow-dry your hair on a medium heat with a paddle brush, ensuring the air flow is always aiming down to keep your hair as smooth as possible.

Step 3: Spritz some heat defence spray such as ‘Matrix Design Pulse Iron In’ through your hair and straighten with medium Irons.

Step 4: Once your hair has cooled, use a soft bristle brush to smooth your hair into a ponytail based on your crown and secure with a hair band or bungee. Take a small amount of hair from the underneath of your pony and wrap around the base of your ponytail to disguise your bungee.

Step 5: Finish your look with a generous amount of shine spray - Matrix Design Pulse Surround Shine - to give your look a mirror like shine.
