Huishan Zhang

Stylist: Johanna Cree Brown for Indola

For Autumn/Winter 2024, Huishan Zhang explores and celebrates the conflicting personalities and sartorial signatures of Ingrid Bergman and Anna Magnani, romantic rivals in a legendary cinematic feud. Hair was inspired by these actresses with an integrated grunge vibe and Alfred Hitchcock inspired elements, while delicately nodding to the elegance of the 1940s. The result? A mesmerizing juxtaposition of slick wet looks with soft shapes, texture and movement.

Hero products

The location of the Banqueting house meant a restriction on product usage, so hair looks had to be created without the use or hot tools or aerosols. The creative genius behind Indola's hair looks, Johanna Cree Brown used a selection of products to achieve the desired aesthetic. From the Color Leave-In Hair Mask to the Blonde Expert Insta Strong Spray Conditioner creating a flawless base for the wet-look. The ensemble was further enhanced by the application of Curl Cream, Strong Mousse, Texture Glue, and Fibremold to shape and mould the hair into a chic, modern 1940’s grunge.

London College of Fashion

Indola continued to captivate audiences at London College of Fashion (LCF), University of the Arts London (UAL) MA Fashion Design Technology Post Graduate show, presenting four distinct looks that epitomize versatility innovation in hairstyling.

Hero products
  • GRUNGE - Curl Cream, Strong Mousse and Salt Spray to add some grit.
  • ETHERAL – was all about dry, parched, thirsty hair with no moisture. So, the focus was on the texture and movement using Texture Spray and Volumizing Powder.
  • POLISHED – was a clean, expensive look so the Volume & Blow-Dry Spray was used for styling and the Flexible Hairspray used to finish the look.
  • GREASY – with a focus in the roots the Gel Spray and Glamourous Oil were layered up to create shine.
ANCUȚA SARCA

Stylist: Kota Suizu for Indola

Look 1. Airport chic updo

An exaggerated and much sleeker version of how a celebrity would hop off a plane and stroll out of the airport to the city.

  1. Prepped with Indola Thermal Spray then Volume and Blow Dry Spray – Blow-dried straight and flat in a strong middle parting making minimal volume in the roots.
  2. Then applying Gel Spray from the root to about 5 inches of the hair length applying section by section and brushing all the hair through securing it in a ponytail at the back of the head - about the height of the top of ear.
  3. Twisting all the tail part into a rope sort of shape, then simply securing it with an original Ancuta Sarca crocodile clip.
  4. The very ends of the hair were finished with a generous amount of Glamorous Oil Gloss for extra shine and richness.

Look 2. 90s Business chic

Flat, poker straight and glossy.

  1. Prepped with Indola Thermal Spray then Volume and Blow Dry Spray – Blow-dried straight and flat in a natural no-parting when there’s bangs, or strong middle parting (if no bangs) making minimal volume in the roots.
  2. Ironing with a hair straightener slightly inwards, but almost poker straight.
  3. Finishing the length of the hair with a generous amount of Glamorous Oil Gloss leaving it much heavier with product than you would normally do. Comb through with a wide tooth comb and lightly pinch/twist the ends to give separation to the hair.
