Jamie Stevens' Spring/Summer 16 Hair Trends

Share

For the team at Jamie Stevens, the hair on the catwalks of the four fashion capitals of the world is just as, if not more, important than the clothes. The variety of hairstyles has been eye catching at the Spring/Summer 16 Fashion Weeks.

Accessories

We have seen a multitude of designers sending their models down the catwalk with accessories in their hair; including Rodarte’s metal flower clips in gold and silver, Lanvin’s satin bows tied into their models hair-ups and Chanel’s metallic headbands and bows. Hair accessories have been a huge trend for the last few seasons, however next year they will have more of an edge with the majority of them made out of metal.

Braids

Braids are an on-going, growing trend and we love them. They are so versatile and can be played with to suit any occasion. We have seen them all over the catwalks for Spring/Summer 2016; from Giles’ French braids that create the illusion of a half up half down look to Valentino’s cornrows leading into a messy bun. The variety of styles is endless when it comes to plaits and braids.

Ballet Bun

Designers such as 3.1 Phillip Lim, Jason Wu and Givenchy have been embracing varieties of the ballet bun to showcase their designs for Spring/Summer 2016. The ballet bun can be manipulated to suit any outfit or occasion, whether it be textured or super sleek, whilst the positioning of the bun can add a totally different feel to the overall look.
