Arriving back late on Thursday from my New York Fashion Week adventures, it was straight back to a busy day in my Edinburgh salon on Friday morning!

I always try and get back to the salon - even for a day - in-between each city to see my family and spend a day with my team and clients. My clients are so good about booking round my Fashion Week and session work schedule, and my team all work really hard while I'm away. Without everyone else being so great I simply couldn't do what I do!

Straight to sleep and up in a matter of hours, I’m on the 6am flight to London. I'm doing six shows in three days in London, all assisting Anthony Turner. I head straight to our first show, JW Anderson. We are also doing Versus by Versace, Margaret Howell, Topshop Unique, Erdem and Peter Pilotto.

I think the hair at London Fashion Week is always more edgy than any of the other fashion capitals, and I get so much inspiration from watching the looks from all the shows in London. In fact our AIPP nominated collection, INTEX, lent itself on a lot of the techniques from the fashion weeks I’ve covered.

My favourite show was Versus by Versace. The hair was a middle parting with a soft and natural wave, but it had to look thick healthy and expensive. We used lots and lots of extensions to each models hair and then prepped the hair by adding layer after layer of styling product and blow-drying smooth by stretching the hair with our hands. Then we randomly tonged the lengths and ends of the hair with large tongs and then pulled most of the wave out with a Mason Pearson brush. The hair looked luxurious with a high fashion edge.

We also managed to do a shoot in London late on the Sunday. This is the second part of a series of fashion shoots we are doing in each of the fashion capitals while we are on our travels.

London is always a dazzler, and definitely interesting, busy and so much more - a pleasure to be involved in. Milan closely follows, and of course, as a fashion capital there will be lots to spill!
