The R+Co team have been busy in Milan styling for men’s fashion week (Milano Moda Uomo). See below for how-to tutorials from the lead stylists.
Munsoo Kwon

Spring/summer 2018 talks about today’s social phenomena of individualism with the rise of the single-person household. From the yuppies, young urban professionals from the early 80’s, and the Bobos, people who espouse both values of the counterculture and materialism, a bourgeois bohemian in the 21st century digital era, to Yolo’s, people with a view that no one should worry about the future and make the most of the present. Munsoo Kwon explored the fascinating history of individualism that has changed and reflected the values of the times. Oversized silhouettes have become Munsoo Kwon’s new signature style ensuring a dramatic look.
Hair inspiration: Global individuality
How to:
- Hair was styled according to individual aesthetic; however all looks used R+Co PINSTRIPE Detangling Spray and finished with R+Co TROPHY Shine + Texture Spray.
- Apply R+Co PINSTRIPE Detangling Spray with a moderate amount of R+Co TWISTER Curl Primer and work into the hair.
- Dry hair on a cold setting without using a diffuser to create real texture.
- Finish by styling out with your hands completing with R+Co TROPHY Shine + Texture Spray.
DAKS London

This season, the DAKS Menswear collection transports us back through the history of the British Social Season with a particular focus on The Henley Royal Regatta. Ambitious young gentlemen guide us through the season’s theme sporting sophisticated jackets with coloured trims, appliqués or jacquard weaved coats of arms. The relaxed atmosphere with its retro elements is evoked by the introduction of slightly wider trousers with a high waistband. The DAKS spring/summer collection speaks of youth and charm from the eyes of those who worry not of the future, but sailing the waters of the present.
Hair inspiration: Early 20th century Henley regatta (The Amateur Sportsman)
How-to:
- Firstly hair was dampened with R+Co ONE Prep Spray (£19.95).
- Work the hair into a perfect side parting depending on suitability from the temple.
- Comb the hair in a very flat fashion adding a little water if necessary.
- Dry the hair with a brush with no volume at the front.
- Work R+Co VICIOUS Strong Hold Flexible Hairspray (£22.95) onto the hair to set while still damp, in a heavy application.
- Work with the back of the comb to smooth and perfect the look.
- For those with moustaches and beards, facial hair was tamed with V76 Beard Oil (£21.95), to add moisture and deliver sheen.
*While straw boaters were a big part of the show, it was important the hair was not to be disturbed by this accessory, which was essential for the character of the runway.

Opposites attract each other, connect, meet and blend together in a new harmony. It is always the same man, but with different looks for his spring/summer season. ‘Today I love you and just for today’ outlines the collection’s modern carpe diem seen in its accessories - a classic revision of British inspiration in a cosmopolitan manner.
Hair inspiration: Rich rock pompadour
How-to:
- Hair was dampened with water and R+Co ONE Prep Spray (£19.95), with R+Co JACKPOT Styling Crème (£22.95) applied through the roots.
- Dry the hair to encourage movement and texture. Apply R+Co AIRCRAFT Pomade Mousse (£22.95) through the lengths and ends, blow-dry and rock it out.
- Finish with R+Co OUTER SPACE Flexible Hold Hairspray (£22.95) for light support.
DONDUP

Mid-90’s minimalism.
How-to:
- Dampen the hair with R+Co DALLAS Thickening Spray (£22.95) for control.
- Hair was then blow-dried to remove volume and movement and tucked behind the ear.
- A small amount of R+Co CONTINENTAL Glossing Wax (£22.00) offered the desired sheen, and to complete for the purpose of the open air Milan evening presentation, R+Co FOIL Frizz + Static Control Spray (£22.95) was utilized.
