Schwarzkopf Professional X London Fashion Week

Share

Schwarzkopf Professional once again take on London Fashion Week and were the backstage hair product of choice for the VIN + OMI, TooGood and SUPRIYA LELE’s catwalk shows. They also had stylists from two of their Schwarzkopf Professional salons – Janet Maitland Hair Excellence and Edward&Co, assist Louis Ghewy for the SUPRIYA LELE Fashion East show.

VIN + OMI

We wanted the hair to be bouncy and young, so pigtails worked for the majority of the looks. The angle of the pigtail was important to the outfit. We tried 12 or so different looks before settling on the pigtail look. This collection needed the bouncy young hair to complement it, says VIN + OMI.

  1. Start by dampening the hair down in sections with OSiS+ Hairbody and plenty of OSiS+ Blow and Go spray.
  2. As the hair dries, add OSiS+ Session Label Salt Spray through the mid-lengths and ends to encourage texture.
  3. Part the hair down the centre to the nape and gather the hair into two bunches high above and secure using OSiS+ Elastic.
  4. Using a medium curling tong curl random pieces of hair to create a messy texture and some movement spritzing with OSiS+ Soft Glam Air-Dry Salt Mist.
  5. Once the overall style was created, pull out wispy pieces of hair and pump in some OSiS+ Session Label Powder Cloud to give the look more of an airy dryness. Lastly use the OSiS+ Soft Glam Elixir all along the parting and finish with hairspray to complete the look.

TooGood

Next up at London Fashion Week, Schwarzkopf Professional headed backstage for the TooGood AW18 presentation held at TooGood’s atelier in London. With Philippe Tholimet leading the stylists using Schwarzkopf Professional “the hair was styled to give a raw and organic effect complimentary of the AW18 collection”, says Philippe.

The ‘WE ARE NOT SHEEP’ show had Blondie's Debbie Harry and Matt Kat-Bohen introducing and simultaneously catwalking in NYC alongside the London catwalk.

  1. Apply OSiS+ Session Label Miracle 15 to damp hair, to give the hair some hydration, and blow-dry using a round brush. You can also apply OSIS+ Miracle 15 after a blow dry to give the hair some definition.
  2. Part the hair in a side parting with a rounded side parting using a tail comb. Leave the front and one side out.
  3. Apply OSiS+ Session Label Dry Fix Spray on each section of hair, starting from the back of the head and working upwards to the crown of the hair. Smooth the hair using a flat wooden brush and secure in a clean, low-tied ponytail with no flyaway hair.
  4. Repeat this step again with OSiS+ Session Label Dry Fix Spray, to the front and side part (previously left out), section by section. Smooth the hair and secure with an elastic at the back of the ear and into the base of the ponytail.
  5. Finish by using a tint brush to apply a face clay to random sections of the hair.

SUPRIYA LELE’s Fashion East AW18 show

The final show for Schwarzkopf Professional was Supriya Lele’s Fashion East AW18 show. The Asian British designer who graduated from Edinburgh School of Art and completed her MA at The Royal College of Art, adeptly fuses her own style desires with traditional Sari draping techniques, sportswear, utility and reworked masculine garments. She has a keen eye on sartorial ‘gestures,’ and sub-cultural provocations and that transpires into elegant urban clothes that speak of adventure, resilience and beauty.

Leading the stylists backstage for the Fashion East show was Louis Ghewy,

We took inspiration from south Asian school girls with braids and gave it a contemporary sporty twist with the wet comb mark.

Assisting Louis were Schwarzkopf Professional salon stylist’s Donna McKay and Leah Allen from Janet Maitland Hair Excellence, and Chris Tranter and Annabelle Taylor from Edward & Co.

  1. Using Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ Grip and OSiS+ Hair body, comb the hair back, away from the face to create a wet-look root.
  2. Ensure a wide-tooth comb is used to create the lines and texture through the hair.
  3. Part the hair down the centre and braid from half way down the head. Creating either one or two braids and looping the ends of the braids up on itself, tucking the ends in and underneath the braid.
  4. Finish the look with OSiS+ Session Label hairspray for hold.
