Wigs are the perfect way to mix up your look with none of the commitment!

It seems that wigs are the new trend, from the catwalks of Chanel and Fendi to Instagram feeds around the world – wigs seem to be the ultimate temporary transformer!

Whether it is rainbow colours or long with soft layers like Khloe Kardashian, wigs are undoubtedly one of the most talked about trends for 2016.

When celebrities like social media star Kylie Jenner and Kerrueche Tran began to pop up with shocking blue hair, most assumed it was coloured or extensions, when in actual fact they were wearing wigs.

Both Jenner and Tran’s wigs were courtesy of celebrity stylist Tokyo Stylez who began styling hair extensions at the age of 11 years old. After building a reputation as an extension stylist he began to be approached by cancer patients asking whether he would create wigs, and they took off from there.

If you don’t already, we recommend you follow Stylez on Instagram – his feed is mesmerizing as he tries on each wig himself (and captures a selfie) before styling them for clients!

Whilst on a day to day basis most of us will struggle to pull off a retro style like Nicki Minaj there are many natural and versatile alternatives for when a change is needed. This year’s Coachella festival saw celebrities accessorising a variety of vibrant tones including pink, purple and blue, proving that wigs can be great for a bit of fun and keep your hair healthy.

Our three tips for wigs:

  1. Have the wig cut to a shape which suits your face
  2. Wash it before the first wear and regularly thereafter
  3. Invest in the right care products – this can dramatically extend the life of your wig
